Potosí, Manquillo and Soriano for the Mexican double

In San Luis de Potosí (Mexico) the fourth FIP Gold tournament of the season is being played, the second in Mexico after the one in Saltillo in July: 125 FIP ranking points will be up for grabs for the winners. In the women’s 21-pair draw, Letizia Maria Manquillo and Arantxa Soriano lead the entry list, going for their second consecutive Mexican title after the one in the FIP Star in Aguascalientes. The number 2 seeded players will instead be Nuria Vivancos and Xenia Clascà.

In the men’s draw, on the other hand, Italians Simone Cremona and Marco Cassetta – who are coming from fourth place in the FIP World Padel Championships in Doha – will be one of the four pairs that will go straight into the round of 16; the number 2 seeded players will be British Christian Medina Murphy and Spanish Alberto Garcia, who in the last three CUPRA FIP Tour tournaments have reached two finals (one won in Stratford and one lost in Santiago) and a semi-final in Aguascalientes. The main draw will start today with the first round, while the finals are scheduled for Saturday.
