Kaunas, Fernandez-Jimenez from Dubai to Lithuania
November 8, 2024Only a few hours ago, Antonio ‘Pincho’ Fernandez and Jose Jimenez were in Dubai for the first round of the P1 lost to Jairo Bautista and Fran Guerrero. The two Spanish players, however, immediately thought about the next tournament, the FIP Star being played this weekend in Kaunas (Lithuania), where Fernandez and Jimenez are the number 1 seed in a 32-pair draw. Number 2 seeded are Sweden’s Simon Vasquez and Adam Axelsson, who were in the Swedish squad list for the FIP World Padel Championships in Doha. Italians Noa Bonnefoy and Emiliano Iriart complete the podium in a tournament starting today with the first round. On Saturday the round of 16 and the quarter-finals, On Sunday the semi-finals and the final, with 62 points in the FIP ranking up for grabs for the winning pairs, as happened in the other two FIP Stars played this season, in Gran Canaria and Aguascalientes.
