Aguascalientes, Mexico hosts the first of three consecutive Star
November 1, 2024In the days of the FIP World Padel Championships in Doha, the Mexican city of Aguascalientes is hosting the second FIP Star of the season, after the one in Gran Canaria. But it will be the first of three consecutive tournaments in this category of the CUPRA FIP Tour, which awards 62 points in the FIP ranking for winners: the next two will be played in Kaunas (Lithuania) and Mauritius. In Aguascalientes, however, the men’s first round matches were played, with the tournament entering its decisive phase today with the round of 16 (which will see the debut of the top seeds) and the start of the women’s main draw.
Christian Medina Murphy and Alberto Garcia, winners of the FIP Rise in Stratford a few weeks ago, lead the men’s entry list, followed by Gonzalo Perez and Ricardo Martinez; in the women’s draw, on the other hand, the number 1 seed are Letizia Maria Manquillo (ranking number 67) and Arantxa Soriano (59); on the other side are Alba Perez and Ana Varo.
