The draws: Stupaczuk tries again, like two years ago

A week before the start of the FIP World Padel Championships, the Premier Padel circuit makes a stop under the pyramids. In Newgiza (Egypt), the nineteenth and fifth-to-last stage of the season will be played, with Premier Padel returning to Egypt two years after the edition won by Franco Stupaczuk and Pablo Lima. And it will be the Argentinean, paired with Mike Yanguas, who will head the entry list of the men’s 32-pair draw: for Stupaczuk/Yanguas, in the first round, there are the Italian Denis Perino and the Argentinean Nacho Piotto. Today, the draws were made: in the bottom half of the draw, the number 2 seed will be Coki Nieto and Jon Sanz, already winners of a P2, the one in Bordeaux, and who will debut against Alvaro Cepero and Miguel Benitez. The number 3 and 4 seeded players will be Edu Alonso and Momo Gonzalez, and Javi Garrido paired with Lucas Bergamini. Also on court will be Fran Guerrero and Jairo Bautista, the pair of the moment after two titles in a row on the CUPRA FIP Tour, the Gold in Lyon and the Platinum in Marbella.

WOMEN
In the women’s draw, the number 1 seeds will be Gemma Triay and Claudia Fernandez, winners of four titles this season; Gemma and Claudia, like the other top three seeds, will enter the scene directly in the round of 16, and will do so against two Egyptian wild cards (El Nimr/Hakim or against a pair coming from the qualifiers). The big news at the P2 in Newgiza is the number 2 seeded pair of Lucia Sainz and Delfi Brea, the latter a four-time champion in 2024 with Bea Gonzalez and a finalist at the Paris Major paired with Andrea Ustero. For Sainz/Brea, a qualified pair or lucky loser or Velasco/Canovas. Also aiming for their second win of the season after the P2 in Genoa are Marta Ortega and Sofia Araujo (3), as well as Jessica Castelló, champion in Acapulco with Claudia Jensen and playing in Egypt as the number 4 seed with Ale Salazar, just after losing the final in the FIP Platinum in Marbella.
