Open Poreč, the first time of the CUPRA FIP Tour in Croatia

After the first time in Montenegro, with the FIP Promotion Lustica Bay, the CUPRA FIP Tour is coming to Croatia for the first time. This weekend the FIP Promotion Open Poreč will be held, with a men’s draw of 32 pairs from all over Europe (with the addition of an Argentinian player, Juan Ignacio Balzola) and a women’s draw of 21 pairs.

Among the men, leading the entry list are Italian Simone Cremona and Spanish Jaime Fermosell, who made it through to the second round of the Greenweez Paris Major Premier Padel against Arturo Coello and Agustin Tapia after starting from the qualifiers; seeded number 2, Portuguese Pedro Araujo (Sofia’s brother) and Spanish Gerard Arnaldos. Among the women, however, Carla Serrano and Aitana Garcia (Spain) lead, with Aimee Gibson (Great Britain) and Maaike Betz (Netherlands) on the other side of the draw. Friday’s main draw matches will start, with finals on Sunday.
