Marbella, the finals: Guerrero-Bautista vs Gonzalez-Alonso, Salazar-Castelló vs Icardo-Jensen

At the FIP Platinum in Marbella it’s finals day. At 12 noon the women’s, not before 2 p.m. the men’s. And they will be two finals not to be missed: among the women the most awaited one, among the men the one between pairs who were not among the top two seeds. Ale Salazar and Jess Castelló against Tamara Icardo and Claudia Jensen for the women’s title: the padel legend will be chasing her first title of the season in partnership with Castelló, who lifted a trophy in the P1 in Acapulco in partnership with Claudia Jensen, who will be today playing in Marbella against Tamara Icardo, back from injury. Salazar/Castelló in the semifinals overcame Martinez Gomez/Goenaga 6-0 7-5; for Icardo/Jensen, double 6-3 to Martinez/Collombon.

Then it will be the men’s time, with Fran Guerrero and Jairo Bautista continuing their perfect week. The FIP Gold champions from Lyon defeated Coki Nieto and Jon Sanz, the number 1 seed on the draw, in the semifinals (6-4 3-6 6-4). Between Guerrero/Bautista and the second title in a row on the CUPRA FIP Tour (with the FIP Platinum awarding 250 ranking points to each of the winners), Momo Gonzalez and Edu Alonso, who have a great feeling with the CUPRA FIP Tour, having already won the first FIP Platinum of the season in Cagliari (Italy) and the FIP Star in Gran Canaria.
