In Mexico it’s time for the young champions. Carraro: “You are a source of inspiration, set an example on the court”
September 17, 2024The parade of teams, the players’ oath, and the final fireworks officially opened the 10th edition of the FIP Juniors Panamerican Padel Championships, the most important tournament dedicated to the young padel talents of the Americas. The opening ceremony in Aguascalientes (Mexico) kicked off a week of competition, but above all, a celebration of friendship among the future champions from nine countries across the continent: Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Ecuador, Mexico, Paraguay, Uruguay, the United States, and Venezuela.
“Every time our young athletes step onto the court to defend their national colors, we strongly feel that we have done our job and have done so in the highest possible sense”, said Luigi Carraro, president of the International Padel Federation. “Sport is and must be about the future, and these young players are the future of padel, tomorrow’s champions, and a source of inspiration for the younger generations. I tell them to have fun at this great event, now in its 10th edition, make friends, share sporting and social values, and set an example on the court. My personal thanks, on behalf of the FIP and everyone who loves padel, go to FEMEPA and the newly formed Padel America for their organizational efforts in this great competition dedicated to the best talents from across the Americas”.
“There is nothing more important for us adults than seeing the stands full of so many boys and girls. We all work for you, to give you these opportunities and help you experience moments that will surely remain etched in your memory”, added Jorge Mañe, president of FEMEPA. “I want to thank the entire federation team, all the presidents of Padel America, with whom we will work even harder to provide you with the best opportunities. It has been an impressive effort to get here, and this week we will witness the best padel in all of the Americas. Here are the future stars of this sport: may it be a memorable tournament for its fair play, for the commitment shown on the court, and may the best win. Show that competing for your country is an honor”.
