Day 2: It’s semifinal time for the boys from Mexico and Argentina

The boys from Mexico and Argentina are the first semifinalists of the 10th edition of the FIP Juniors Panamerican Padel Championships. On day 2 in Aguascalientes (Mexico), both teams secured the decisive “tie” to win their respective groups: the “Albiceleste” defeated the United States 3-0, with clear victories in the Under 14, Under 16, and Under 18 categories. The match between the hosts and Paraguay was more closely contested: after Mexico’s victory in the Under 14 match, Paraguay tied the score in the Under 16, before Mexico took the decisive point in the Under 18 (6-1, 5-7, 7-5 was the final score). “El Tricolor” thus secured the first place in Group B, while Argentina topped Group A. Thanks to a “bye,” the top-ranked teams from these two groups advance directly to the semifinals scheduled for Friday.

On Thursday, starting at 4:30 PM local time, the quarterfinals will take place, with Brazil (second in Group C) facing Paraguay. There is also anticipation for Chile, who, after finishing first in Group C, will face the United States (second in Group A).

GIRLS In the women’s tournament, which will conclude the group stage today, Argentina once again stands out, leading Group A after a 3-0 win over Chile. Paraguay also secured three victories (now second) against Ecuador. In Group B, Brazil and Mexico are tied, having respectively defeated the United States and Uruguay. Both teams are level on points and will face each other on Thursday (at 9:00 AM) in a match that will decide the top spot, while in Group A, Argentina will meet Paraguay, and Ecuador will face Chile.
