FIP Rise Mol, Geens at home seeks second win in a row

After winning the title last Sunday in Italy with Argentina’s Juan Ignacio Rubini, Clement Geens – number 102 in the FIP ranking – is playing the FIP Rise Mol (Belgium) as the host. Geens will take to the court with Frenchman Thomas Leygue, as the number 1 seed, of a 32-pair draw in which the number 2s are Spaniards Marcos Cordoba and Candido Alfaro. Among the women, however, there will be 22 pairs competing, with Spain’s Rebecca Lopez and Marcella Koek (Netherlands) leading the entry list, followed by Lucia Micaela Fernandez and Carla Fitó Fernandez.

Also starting is Nati Lopez Diaz, paired with Lucia Garcia Trella: it’s a good moment for the number 118 in the ranking, who in the last two tournaments played won the FIP Rise in Koksijde and reached the final in the FIP Promotion in Villacarrillo. The main draw matches will start on Friday with the first round: Saturday the round of 16 and the quarters, Sunday the semi-finals and the finals.
