Comunidad de Madrid Premier Padel P1, the show is back on! After the break, all the best players are in Spain

After a four-week summer break, the show on the Premier Padel circuit is back on. And it starts again with three tournaments in the next three weeks: it begins with the Comunidad de Madrid Premier P1, followed by another P1 in Rotterdam and the P2 in Valladolid. At the WiZink Center (35,000 tickets have already been sold) there is great expectation for the challenges between established pairs and pairs that only started playing together in Finland, in the last stage of the circuit before the break. In Madrid, in the presence of Coki Nieto and Claudia Fernandez, the draw was made for the starting draw on Monday and, as always happens, there is no shortage of fascinating matches.

MEN Like all P1 category tournaments (1,000 points up for grabs for the winning pairs), the men’s draw will consist of 48 pairs, with the top 16 entering the court in the second round. The number 1 seed will again be Arturo Coello and Agustin Tapia, opposing either Munoz/Garcia or Chozas/Augsburger in the opener. Also returning to the court are Fede Chingotto and Ale Galan (2): first match against wild cards Gil/Marcos or against a pair from the qualifiers. Martin Di Nenno and Juan Lebron, winners in Finland, are the number 3 seed: for them, Gutierrez/Marti or two qualifiers. Franco Stupaczuk and Mike Yanguas, from number 4 in the seeding, complete the picture of potential finalists: for them, definitely two players from the qualifiers. These are the hypothetical quarter-finals: Coello/Tapia (1)-Tello/Belasteguin (7), Cardona/Navarro (5)-Di Nenno-Lebron (3), Yanguas/Stupaczuk (4), Ruiz/Garrido (6), Nieto/Sanz (8)-Chingotto/Galan (2).

WOMEN After making history in Finland with their 33rd title as a pair, Ari Sanchez and Paula Josemaria start again as hosts in Spain: the number 1 seeds lead the entry list of 32 and were drawn against Lorena Rufo and Bea Caldera in the first round. On the other side, the number 2s are Bea Gonzalez and Delfi Brea, who will face Marta Barrera and Marta Caparros. Rounding out the seeded podium are Gemma Triay and Claudia Fernandez, opposing wild cards Lorena Alonso and Maria Catalina Tenorio. Finally, number 4 are Marta Ortega and Sofia Araujo: in the first round, they will duel with Carolina Orsi and Nuria Rodriguez. Hypothetical quarter-finals: Sanchez/Josemaria (1)-Sainz/Llaguno (6), Osoro/Virseda (7)-Triay/Fernandez (3), Ortega/Araujo (4)-Riera/Goenaga (8), Castelló/Salazar (5, new pair)-Brea/Gonzalez (2).
