Malaga Premier Padel P1, the draws. The best players in the world come back to Andalucia
July 6, 2024After the show in Sevilla, the Premier Padel circuit comes back to Andalucia with another week not to be missed. From Monday, the Palacio de Deportes José María Martín Carpena will host the Malaga Premier Padel P1, the 13th stage of the season, with 1,000 points up for grabs for the winning pairs in the two draw lists: the men’s draw of 48 pairs (the 16 top seeds will go straight into the second round) and the women’s draw of 32. There are two courts set up at Martin Carpena to host the tournament until Friday, plus a third court in the adjacent hall; for the semi-finals and finals, however, only the centre court will remain set up, with over 15,000 tickets already sold for a very important event.
MEN Today, the draw was made: Arturo Coello and Agustin Tapia, the number 1 seed, will face in the round of 16 a pair coming from the qualifiers or the pair formed by Antonio Luque and Facundo Dominguez. At the bottom half, however, Sevilla champions Fede Chingotto and Ale Galan (2) will face either a qualified pair or Italian-Argentinian Denis Perino and Spanish Pablo Garcia Rodrigo. That of Malaga will be the last tournament as a pareja for ‘Superpibes’ Franco Stupaczuk and Martin Di Nenno, finalists in Sevilla and seeded number 3: for the Argentinians, in their Malaga debut, Chipi Munoz and Javi Garcia or Enrique Goenaga and Arnau Ayats. Last tournament as ‘pareja’ also for Juan Lebron and Paquito Navarro, number 4 in the seeding: first match against Cayetano and Manuel Rocafort (brothers and wild cards) or Nachi Sager and Salva Oria. Potential quarterfinals: Coello/Tapia (1)-Tello/Belasteguin (6), Nieto/Sanz (8)-Navarro/Lebron (4), Stupaczuk/Di Nenno (3)-Gonzalez/Ruiz (7), Yanguas/Garrido (5), Chingotto/Galan (2).
WOMEN Carla Mesa and Sara Ruiz Soto will be the opponents of Paula Josemaria and Ari Sanchez, the number 1 seed in the Malaga draw. The number 2s, on the other hand, will be Delfi Brea and Bea Gonzalez (the latter born in Malaga), champions in Sevilla and opposing Barbara Las Heras and Victoria Iglesias. Gemma Triay and Claudia Fernandez (3) find Sofia Saiz and Marina Lobo; for Marta Ortega and Sofia Araujo (4), there are Marta Barrera and Marta Caparros. Potential quarterfinals: Josemaria/Sanchez (1)-Castelló-Jensen (5), Sainz-Lllaguno (6)-Ortega/Araujo (4), Triay-Fernandez (3)-Riera/Goenaga (8), Salazar-Virseda (7)-Brea/Gonzalez (2).
