FIP Rise Koksijde, Spanish double in Belgium

It was two Spanish pairs that took the title in the FIP Rise in Koksijde, Belgium. In the men’s draw, number 1 seed Alonso Rodriguez and Daniel Santigosa lived up to expectations, lifting the trophy without losing a set and beating Sweden’s Albin Olsson and Adam Axelsson (8) in the final with a score of 6-4 6-1. “We won the title thanks to a great weekend –  the winners said –. Thanks to the crowd and the organisation”. Rodriguez moved up one position, from 98 to 97, while Santigosa moved closer to the top 100, from number 105 to 102.

Among the women, however, the title went to number 3 Nati Lopez Diaz and Lucia Garcia, thanks to 6-2 6-4 in the final over Belgian Helena Wyckaert and Swedish Amanda Girdo. For the Spanish pair it was their second title together after the FIP Rise in Cordenons, with Lopez Diaz (now number 120 in the FIP ranking) having already won two other tournaments in 2024, the FIP Rise Betsson Sweden II and the FIP Promotion Ciudad de Jaén.
