FIP Platinum Sardegna: Lamperti and Tolito, padel show for the fans on “Bela Day”

‘Bela’ takes the stage in the evening program, with Momo Gonzalez also making his debut. The second edition of the FIP Platinum Sardegna, the top-tier tournament of the CUPRA FIP Tour, started today at TC Cagliari with prestigious names. Fernando Belasteguin‘s highly anticipated debut – with fans ready to applaud the “last dance” of the Legend – is made even more interesting by the presence of Javi Garrido by his side, a new pair that promises to thrill the audience. The number one seeds will take the court in the last match scheduled on the Central court; facing them will be another Spanish-Argentinian pair, Ignacio Piotto and Mario Del Castillo.

Another new pair immediately put on a show: Miguel Lamperti and Tolito Aguirre made their debut in the first match of the morning on the Central court, with an already large crowd cheering on two athletes who are very popular in Italy as well, especially Tolito, a YouTube star and undisputed idol of the younger fans. The two won in exactly one hour (6-3 6-1) against the Italian pair Perino/Dominguez. The Sardinian adventure also started well for Maxi Sanchez and Luciano Capra (3), with a 6-4 6-4 victory over Medina/Garcia. In the stands was a special fan: former Atalanta footballer “Papu” Gomez, a great supporter of his friend Sanchez, but also of Tolito and Lamperti: “I’m here for them”, he said. Among the seeds, the sixth-seeded Goenaga/Esbri (7-5 6-3 over Martinez/Ruiz) also did well, and in the round of 16 they will face “Miguelito” and his flamboyant partner; everything went as expected for Zapata/Diestro (7), who only dropped five games to Ruiz/Ranera (6-3 6-2).

WOMEN Virginia Riera and Carmen Goenaga took just 54 minutes to finish their match (6-1 6-4) against qualifiers Peco/Foguer; the number one seeds will face Barrera/Caparros tomorrow, who defeated Dominguez/Gallardo 6-4 6-4. In the morning session, Sharifova/Martinez (4) also won against Blanco/Vivancos (6-1 7-6 in just over an hour). In the evening, it will be the turn of Osoro/Marrero (2), who will close the program on court 4 against Noemi Aguilar and the Italian Martina Parmigiani; before them, Marina Guinart and Victoria Iglesias (3) will face Peralta/Ribeiro. Speaking of Italians, this morning saw a trio of “azzurre” victories from Chiara Pappacena, Lorena Vano, and Carolina Orsi.
