FIP Gold Saltillo, in Mexico the CUPRA FIP Tour show
July 10, 2024After the excitement of the OYSHO Valladolid FIP Gold, the second tournament of this category of the CUPRA FIP Tour is being played in Mexico this week. At stake, for the winners, 125 points in the FIP ranking, with the chance of improving their position. In the men’s 32-team draw, Gonzalo Rubio, number 31 in the ranking, leads the seeded list. He will play with Argentine Eduardo Agustin Torre, with Aitor Garcia (93) and Miguel Angel Solbes (68) as the number 2 seeded players. Completing the entry list podium are Italian Marco Cassetta (101) and Belgian Clement Geens (112).
The top seeds, in the women’s 17-pair draw, are France’s Alix Collombon, number 34 in the FIP ranking, and Argentina’s Julieta Bidahorria (51), with France’s Carla Touly (99) and Spain’s Lucia Perez Parra (95) trying to reach the final from the bottom of the draw. The tournament will be played at Punto Padel: the main draw kicks off today, with the double round (quarterfinals and semifinals) scheduled for Friday and the finals for Saturday. The FIP Gold in Saltillo precedes by a week another great stage of the CUPRA FIP Tour, the FIP Platinum of Sardinia (Italy), scheduled in Cagliari, the same city that will host the FIP European Padel Championships.
