FIP Gold Saltillo, day 1. Good debut for all the top seeds in the men’s draw

Predictions were respected in the first round of the FIP Gold in Saltillo (Mexico), the second event in this category of tournaments of the CUPRA FIP Tour after the one in Valladolid (Spain). All eight seeded players in the men’s draw won their debut match: numbers 1 Eduardo Agustin Torre and Gonzalo Rubio defeated 6-0 6-2 Arredondo/Lopez, while numbers 2 on the draw Aitor Garcia and Miguel Angel Solbes eliminated 6-0 6-1 Sassano/Diaz.

They had to suffer more, however, the number 3 on the draw Marco Cassetta and Clement Geens to get the better of (7-6 6-3) the Mexicans Padilla/Montoya. The men’s and women’s round of 16 tournaments will be played today, with all the best female pairs making their debut after Catarina Santos Domingos and Camila Ramme Coellar overcame 6-1 6-1 Arciniegas/Koch in the first round yesterday.
