OYSHO Valladolid FIP Gold, many top 100 on court for the ‘gold’ of Spain
June 26, 2024Club Raqueta is ready to host the OYSHO Valladolid FIP Gold, the first tournament of 2024 of the CUPRA FIP Tour – the circuit of the International Padel Federation that this year counts 180 events – in this category, with 125 points in the FIP ranking up for grabs for the winning pair of the men’s and women’s draw, both made up of 32 pairs. After the end of the qualifiers, from Thursday to Saturday there will be many top 100 players on the court in Valladolid, which confirms itself as one of the iconic cities of international padel and will also host a P2 Premier Padel at Pabellò Pisuerga in September. Between the qualifiers and main draw, there are over 250 athletes at the start, from 19 nations, a participation that gives an idea of the importance of the event.
Leading the men’s entry list of the OYSHO Valladolid FIP Gold will be Javi Rico (number 26 in the FIP ranking) and Juanlu Esbri (34), followed by the very interesting pair formed by Edu Alonso (25) and the young Argentinean Leo Augsburger (58). In the women’s draw, on the other hand, the number 1 seed will be Bea Caldera (number 24 in the FIP ranking and twice in the quarterfinals in the Premier Padel 2024) and Lorena Rufo (21), followed by Nuria (22) and Laia Rodriguez (43), who are also coming off a great result in the Premier Padel, the quarters at the Banco de Chile Santiago P1. On Thursday (round of 32 in the morning and round of 16 in the afternoon) and Friday (quarters in the morning and semifinals in the afternoon) double rounds; the finals, will be played on Saturday starting at 10 a.m., with the tournament being streamed live on the FIP YouTube Channel.
