FIP Rise Delta Padel: third title of the season for Pol Hernandez and ‘Rama’ Valenzuela
May 6, 2024A clear path to the final, won in a comeback in three sets. At the FIP Rise Delta Padel in Camboriú, Brazil, the number 1 pair in the main draw, the Spanish Pol Hernandez and the Argentinean Ramiro Jesus Valenzuela, triumphed. In the title match, they got the better of the home idols – Brazilians Joao Pedro Flores and Stefano Palma Flores – who also reached the championship match without having lost a set. In the final, Hernandez and Valenzuela started off contracted and lost the first set 6-3, but then they loosened up and left their opponents no chance, closing with a peremptory 6-0, 6-1.
Pol Hernandez and ‘Rama’ Valenzuela thus won their third title of the season, following successes at FIP Promotion Alicante and FIP Rise Dubai. And they celebrated in the best possible way the wild card at the Premier Padel P1 in Mar del Plata, scheduled from 20 to 26 May.
With this triumph, Pol Hernandez – who also won the FIP Rise Santiago together with Dylan Demian Cuello – improved his FIP ranking by eleven places: the 19-year-old Spaniard moved up to position number 148. An even bigger leap for Valenzuela, now ranked 182: the previous week he was number 207.
