FIP Promotion Teramo, one more title for Abbate and Graziotti
May 13, 2024It’s a magical 2024 for Flavio Abbate and Giulio Graziotti: the two Italians, now ranked respectively number 159 and 156 in the FIP ranking, have also won the FIP Promotion Teramo, in Italy. This is the fourth title on the CUPRA FIP Tour 2024 after Kaunas, Rocks Lane and Nola, the fifth overall as a pair adding also the one in Zurich in 2023. Abbate and Graziotti, who started as the number three seed and beat 3-6 6-7 6-2 Riccardo Sinicropi and Lorenzo Di Giovanni in the final, thus rise to second place in the ranking of winners of the most tournaments on the CUPRA FIP Tour (seven each, also considering those with other partners), behind Frenchman Jeremy Scatena who leads with eight.
“We are back to victory, this time in our land – Abbate said –. Giulio, you are a lion, in this journey together besides an absurd partner I knew a special person, I couldn’t have asked for better”. “How nice to share all this with you, you are a gladiator – added Graziotti –. Thank you truly for always being by my side at all times. I love you”.
In the women’s draw, on the other hand, it was Spain’s Aida Martinez and Carla Serrano who lifted the trophy, after their success (6-3 6-4) in the final over Italy’s Caterina Maria Baldi and Giulia Dal Pozzo. Martinez remains at number 106 in the FIP ranking; a jump forward, however, for Serrano, who gains four positions and now rises to number 113. Next weekend, the CUPRA FIP Tour will be back on the court again in the region of Abruzzo with the FIP Promotion in Giulianova.
