Sevilla Premier Padel P2, here are the draws. Estadio de la Cartuja ‘temple of the racket’

Four padel courts inside a monument of Spanish sport. Estadio de La Cartuja, in Sevilla, is once again the ‘temple of the racket’, with the sixth stage of the Premier Padel 2024 circuit, the Sevilla Premier Padel P2. After hosting Davis Cup matches and, last November, the Billie Jean King Cup Finals, and after having been the scene not even a month ago of Athletic Bilbao’s Copa del Rey victory in football, it is ready to welcome the stars of world padel, including Paquito Navarro, who will play his home game in Sevilla and who has already had the chance to ‘breathe’ the atmosphere during the preparation of the courts that will host the tournament from Tuesday.

MEN Navarro and Lebron, the number 2 seed in the 32-pair men’s draw, will begin their tournament against Javi Rico and Juanlu Esbri, two players who in Riyadh – in the first Premier Padel of the season – eliminated Paquito, then paired with Sanyo Gutierrez. At the top of the draw, however, Arturo Coello and Agustin Tapia – finalists in Brussels – will debut against José Antonio Diestro and Pablo Lijo. The other finalist pair of the Lotto Brussels Premier Padel P2, that formed by Federico Chingotto and Ale Galan, will debut against Javi Ruiz and Pablo Cardona. Two qualifiers, on the other hand, for ‘Superpibes’ Franco Stupaczuk and Martin Di Nenno, in a tournament that will see the return of legend Fernando Belasteguin, who will form the number five seeded pair with Juan Tello.

WOMEN
Among the women, the main draw will be made up of 28 pairs, with the top four seeds (Josemaria/Sanchez, Brea/Gonzalez, Triay/Fernandez and Salazar/Icardo) having a bye in the first round and debuting directly in the round of 16. For Josemaria/Sanchez, world number 1 and FIP ranking, they will debut against either Canovas/Velasco or Barrera/Caparros, while Brea/Gonzalez (finalists in Brussels against Triay/Fernandez) could meet the young Alonso/Ustero, who will play against Iglesias Segador/Las Heras in the first round.

After the end of the qualifying rounds, the main draw matches will begin on Tuesday: it will be a show in La Cartuja.
