With the day 2 of competition in La Nucía (Alicante), the FIP Seniors World Padel Championships got into full swing with the debut of the national teams that had observed a rest day on Day 1 of the group stage. Wednesday, in the tournament for nations, will be the decisive day to compose the quarter-final table, with the other national teams still having the chance to continue competing for the rankings from 9th to 16th and 17th to 24th place.

In the women’s draw, the highlight match will be between Spain and Argentina, which will be broadcast live on FIP’s YouTube channel and that of the Federation of Comunitat Valenciana: both the Spanish and Argentines beat Japan 5-0. Direct clashes between winning teams in their opening matches also featured Italy-Great Britain, Sweden-Brazil, Netherlands-Portugal and United States-Germany, while in Group G (the four-team one) only one between Denmark and Belgium will advance to the quarters. In Group C, France will face Uruguay, which was defeated by Chile, which on its side was beaten by the French.

In the men’s team tournament, world champion Spain will play for qualification to the quarter-finals against the United States; Argentina, on the other hand, will face Denmark for a place in the table from 1st to 8th place. Also on court will be Agustin Gomez Silingo, number 32 in the FIP ranking. Sweden, who finished third in Las Vegas in 2022, will face Germany. Italy will play for one place in the quarterfinals against Australia.
