FIP Rise Pala Padel Nola, Abbate and Graziotti don’t stop anymore

Flavio Abbate and Giulio Graziotti’s magic moment continues: third FIP Rise in a row won by the two young Italians, who also lifted the trophy at the Pala Padel in Nola (Italy), against all odds. Abbate and Graziotti were not even among the eight seeded players, but they found their way through the draw to victory until the final (2-6 6-4 6-4) in which they beat Denis Perino and Dylan Demian Cuello.
“I have chills just thinking about what happened this weekend – said Abbate –. We went out fighting with the same will as always and never gave up and this will keep us going. You show me every day more and more that you are a fantastic person on and off the court, thank you for everything”. Enthusiastic also Graziotti: “Great moments those we have spent these days. Thank you Flavio for never losing the will to fight on every ball. You were a warrior throughout the tournament, and as always you gave it your all. We helped each other in moments that seemed impossible to pull up: thank you very much again my friend”. Graziotti moved up 11 places in the ranking (to 161), Abbate on the other hand moved up eight (now 169).
In the women’s draw, the trophy was lifted by the number 1 seed Noemi Aguilar Carrillo and Letizia Maria Manquillo, at the end of a well-balanced final: after losing 6-3 in the first set against the Italians Martina Parmigiani and Erika Zanchetta, Aguilar and Manquillo won the remaining two sets on tiebreak. Manquillo, born in 2005, moved up three places in the ranking to number 64, overtaking her teammate Aguilar (born in 2006), who was confirmed at number 65. “It was a tournament made up of tough matches, but we take away a lot of positive things, in addition to the victory, of course”, the words of the two Spanish players.
