FIP Rise Doha, Dominguez and Patiniotis for another title

It’s padel fever again in Doha. Two months after the Ooredoo Qatar Major Premier Padel, the Khailfa International Tennis & Squash Complex is hosting the FIP Rise Doha, with 32 pairs starting in the men’s draw and 17 in the women’s.

The No. 1 seed will be fellow Italian Facundo Dominguez and Aris Patiniotis, who won a tournament played in Doha itself in October 2023 and recently reached the Round of 16 at P1 in Acapulco. Portugal’s Pedro Araujo and Spain’s Sergio Icardo will be the number 3 seeded pair: the latter, paired however with compatriot Francisco Jurado Sosa, is fresh from his triumph in the FIP Promotion Sharjah played in Dubai. The number 2 seed, on the other hand, was assigned to the pair formed by Portugal’s Gustavo Nunes and Spain’s Raul Marcos.

In the women’s draw, the first seeded pair will be that formed by Portugal’s Patricia Maria Ribeiro (71 in the FIP rankings) and Spain’s Marta Arellano Navarro (ranked 81 in the FIP rankings); the No. 2 seeded pair will be the Dutch Marcella Koek and Rosalie Van der Hoek. Finally, Italy’s Marianela Montesi (117 in the FIP ranking) and Spain’s Aitana Garcia Roman (104) occupy the third position in the seeding.
