FIP Rise Rocks Lane, many top 100 on court in London

This weekend, at the Rocks Lane Multisports Centre in Chiswick, a suburb of London not far from the legendary Wimbledon courts, the FIP Rise Rocks Lane will take place, the only event of the week on the CUPRA FIP Tour, as well as the first 2024 event in the UK, a nation where the numbers of courts and members are growing year after year. Leading the men’s entry list will be Spaniards José Luis Gonzalez (world number 82) and Antonio Luque (71), followed by Inigo Jofre (75) and José Solano Marmolejo (73). Completing the seeded podium are Italy’s Nicolas Suescun (91) and Spain’s Martín Sánchez Piñeiro (152).

In the women’s draw, the number 1 seeded players are Portuguese Patricia Maria Ribeiro (number 70 in the FIP ranking) and Julia Polo Bautista (75), with Ana Varo Ramos (84) and Lorena Alonso De Lera (74) on the other side of the draw. Great expectations for home idol Aimee Gibson, who with Paula Canivell Varona will try to repeat the title in the FIP Promotion Cairo. The main draw will start on Friday; round of 16 and quarters on Saturday, semifinals and finals on Sunday.
