FIP PROMOTION Melbourne, Rafter’s first padel victory

After the defeat in Sydney, the first victory of Pat Rafter’s second career came in Melbourne. In the first round of the FIP PROMOTION, the second Australian stage of the CUPRA FIP Tour, the former tennis legend paired with Justin Thomas beat 6-3 6-1 the No. 5 seeded pair of Japan’s Tomita and Igarashi.

The tournament at Game4Padel Docklands then opened in the night (european time), with two draw tables – men’s and women’s – both with 32 pairs.

In the men’s, the number 1 seed are Frenchmen Manuel Vives and Julien Seurin, already winners in Sydney.

In the women’s, on the other hand, the pair to beat are Nerea Santana and Patricia Calderaro, also coming from their victory in last weekend’s tournament.
