Here are the first 2024 winning pairs
January 8, 2024The CUPRA FIP Tour 2024 has elected its first winners. Manuel Vives and Julien Seurin in the men’s draw and Nerea Santana and Patricia Calderaro in the women’s one have won the FIP RISE Australian Open, the opening stage of the International Padel Federation’s circuit, which takes place around the world, with some 120 tournaments on five continents. In the men’s final of the tournament played in Sydney, Vives and Seurin – the number one seed on the draw and able to lift the trophy without losing a set – beat Sergi Guimet Bigas and Nicolai Maniucov Maniucova with a double 6-4. An experience that Seurin documented, as usual, on his YouTube channel, which has over 10,000 subscribers and where the French player – number 164 in the FIP ranking – shares his adventures on and off the court.
The women’s final, won by Santana and Calderaro – also the number 1 seed in the main draw – allowed the two Spaniards, who usually live in Australia, to win their first 25 points of the season. The CUPRA FIP Tour remains ‘down under’ but moves to Melbourne, which will host this week a FIP PROMOTION in which both winning pairs in Sydney are aiming for a double.
