FIP PROMOTION Melbourne, Vives-Seurin and Santana-Calderaro make the double

From Sydney to Melbourne, the winners of the second CUPRA FIP Tour 2024 tournament are the same as the first. Manuel Vives and Julien Seurin among the men and Nerea Santana and Patricia Calderaro among the women lifted their second trophy of the season. The FIP PROMOTION in Melbourne ended with the success of the two number one seeded pairs: Vives and Seurin beat again the Spaniards Sergi Guimet Bigas and Nicolai Maniucov Maniucova, but this time they needed three sets and not two as had happened in Sydney.

The men’s final ended 4-6 6-4 6-3, with the French able to come back from a set down. For Calderaro/Santana, however, success in two sets (6-1 7-5) over Japan’s Akane Kamo and Kotomi Ozawa. “We expressed a good game, but we still have a lot to fight for around the world – said the two winners –. Thanks to the organisation for the success of the tournament”. The CUPRA FIP Tour will return to Europe next week with the FIP RISE Betsson in Gothenburg (Sweden), also the venue for the first FIP PROMISES of the season.
