Santigosa ends the season with a title

After losing the final in the FIP STAR in Doha, Spaniards Daniel Santigosa and Guillermo Collado won the FIP RISE in g, the last European event of the CUPRA FIP Tour. In the final, Santigosa/Collado – who were not included among the seeded players – beat 7-6 7-5 the number 2 seeded players Cristobal Garcia and Pol Hernandez Alvarez.

Santigosa thus closes in the best way a season that saw him, among other things, win two gold medals at the European Games in Krakow, in the men’s and mixed events. In the women’s, on the other hand, victory for Lucia Micaela Fernandez Lopez and Maria Teresa Morinigo Gomez: an incredible tournament, that of the Spanish pair, coming from the qualifiers and able to take advantage of the withdrawal of two opposing pairs, both in the round of 16 and in the quarters.
