Carraro (FIP President): “This event has been a journey into the future”

A historic event in terms of technical level, participation and organisation, and not only that. From the athletes who wrote spectacular pages of padel in Paraguay comes the certainty of a great future for our discipline.

“We are very excited, happy and grateful to Paraguay and its people, for having interpreted as best they could the spirit of a great sporting event in which our young people and, therefore, our future, were the protagonists – said FIP President Luigi Carraro at the end of the FIP Juniors World Padel Championships –. Thanks to the President of the Republic Santiago Peña for being at our side, to the Minister of Sport Cesar Ramirez who was also present at the finals, to the President of the Olympic Committee and IOC member Camilo Perez, to Jorge Ramirez, President of the Paraguayan Federation, and to his magnificent team”.

“The immense gratitude of the FIP family – continued the president of the International Padel Federation – also goes to the delegates of the individual national federations, the players, coaches, referees and all those who made this extraordinary sporting event possible. We found a very high technical and organisational level. I say this with pride: this World Padel Championships were unique, incredible, beautiful, and the stats on the number of participating athletes and nations present testify to that. These guys have sent out a powerful message, because when we talk about the future we always refer to tomorrow. In this week, young athletes have changed the rule: they have anticipated the future and made it visible to all of us here, today and during this Championships. And now we are certain that in the years to come they will write memorable pages, guaranteeing padel an extraordinary journey into the future of sport”.
