Windahl and Vasquez continue to impress

The dream goes on. Daniel Windahl and Simon Vasquez’s perfect week is enriched by another chapter: the two Swedish defeated also Pablo Cardona and Ivan Ramirez (7-6 6-3) to qualify for the final of the FIP STAR Fastweb Padel Arena in Perugia. Among Windahl and Vasquez and a surprising victory (the two players eliminated three seeds, numbers 6, 3 and 2) are Javier Barahona and Javier Garcia (4), who in the other semi-final – also with a surprise – defeated the seeded leaders, Alejandro Arroyo and Eduardo Alonso, with a score of 7-5 2-6 6-3, in front of a large crowd at the Perugia centre court.

There will be a Svedish also in the women final: Carolina Navarro Bjork, paired with Spain’s Marina Martinez Lobo (seeded No. 1) beat Italy’s Baldi/Tommasi 6-2 6-1 and will face Spain’s Nuria Rodriguez/Jimena Velasco Postiguillo (2), who eliminated (6-2 6-3) the other two Italians Giorgia Marchetti and Chiara Pappacena.
