Upset by Nieto/Sanz! A surprise quarter-final tomorrow

At the Greenweez Paris Major Premier Padel there is a quarter-final that few would have predicted. It is the one at the bottom of the Roland Garros draw, with Momo Gonzalez and Sanyo Gutierrez (7), semi-finalists in Madrid, being beaten 7-5 6-2 by Coki Nieto and Jon Sanz.

Tomorrow, the tenth seed on the draw will face José Antonio Diestro and Javier Leal who, after beating Stupaczuk/Di Nenno, repeated in three sets (6-7 6-2 6-4) against Goenaga/Quilez. Also out were Alex Ruiz and Juan Tello (6), eliminated 6-2 6-4 by Victor Ruiz and Lucas Bergamini (9), tomorrow at 2 p.m. on the Philippe-Chatrier against Arturo Coello and Agustin Tapia who, after suffering in their opening match against Rodrigo/Ramirez, entered the tournament. The number 3 seed, but winners in Rome, Madrid and Mendoza, qualified for the quarters defeating Javier Rico and Javier Garrido (12) 6-2 6-4.

Absolute domination for Fede Chingotto and Paquito Navarro (4), 6-2 6-1 to Bautista/Munoz: tomorrow they are expected by Maxi Sanchez and Luciano Capra (8), who took a real marathon against Moyano/Gil (11), 6-4 2-6 7-5 in a match that lasted two hours and 44 minutes. The other quarter-final at the top of the draw will feature world number one Juan Lebron and Ale Galan (6-4 6-1 to Argentines Mouriño and Gomez Silingo, seeded number 16) and the pair formed by Mike Yanguas and Fernando Belasteguin (5), who benefited from the withdrawal in the third set of Arroyo/Rubio (13).
