Coello/Tapia still in the final: as in Rome, it will be Chingotto/Navarro challenge

The men’s final of the Greenweez Paris Major Premier Padel, like the women’s one, will also be the same as the Rome tournament. On the courts of Roland Garros, Arturo Coello and Agustin Tapia (3) on one side and Federico Chingotto and Paquito Navarro (4) won their respective semi-finals in two sets and tomorrow – not before 4.30pm – they will compete to compete for the Parisian title. For Coello and Tapia there will be the chance to win the fourth seasonal tournament in the Premier Padel circuit and equal the 2022 record of Juan Lebron and Ale Galan, while Chingotto and Navarro will try to take revenge after the defeat at the Foro Italico (and in Madrid…).

Devastating. There are probably no other adjectives to describe the couple formed by Arturo Coello and Agustin Tapia, who after triumphing in Rome, Madrid and Mendoza also easily took the final in Paris. After losing the opening set in the round of 32 and quarterfinals, in the semi-final the number 3 seeds left no chance for the Spaniards Coki Nieto and Jon Sanz. The final 6-2, 6-4 – the result of three overall breaks – in 57 minutes of the match says a lot about the dominance of the number 3 pair on the scoreboard, who did not grant break points to their opponents. Who can still console themselves with the great tournament played.

In the second semi-final, Chingotto and Navarro light up Philippe-Chatrier with their plays and “evolutions”. The start of the number 4 seeding pair is excellent and the 6-2 inflicted on Lebron and Galan is the perfect reflection of its superiority. Chingotto and “Paquito” are also on top in the second set and the 3-0 set inflicted on their opponents seems like the prelude to a comfortable victory. The Spaniards, the number 1 pair in the world, have a jolt and manage to bring the score back into balance; Chingotto and Navarro, however, get back on top and close 6-2, 6-4 at the third match point, in 1 hour and 38 minutes.
