Also Paris at the feet of Coello and Tapia: fourth triumph in a row on the Premier Padel circuit

Arturo Coello and Agustin Tapia drop their poker. After Rome, Madrid and Mendoza, the world’s No. 3 pair confirmed their overflowing form and also won the Greenweez Paris Major Premier Padel, overcoming Federico Chingotto and Paquito Navarro in straight sets: the one obtained at the Philippe-Chatrier is the fourth consecutive Major in a row for the padel wonder pair, which equals the record of triumphs in the circuit (4) obtained last year by Spanish aces Juan Lebron and Ale Galan.

Chingotto and Navarro, the No. 4 seeded pair, were driven by a great desire for revenge after being beaten in the title match both at the Foro Italico and in the Spanish capital. In Paris they got off to a great start, snatching service from their highly-rated rivals and taking a 4-2 lead: Coello and Tapia, however, managed to recover and won the first set at the tie-break, which they won decisively 7-2. An epilogue that probably had psychological setbacks for Chingotto and Navarro, who in the second set broke serve three consecutive times and eventually had to bow out 7-6, 6-1 despite two match-points cancelled in an hour and 22 minutes.

A great satisfaction for Coello, who from next week will become number 1 in the world in the individual ranking of both Premier Padel and Fip (International Padel Federation). “My heart is full, you can’t be happier”, the Spanish player’s comment, “I want to enjoy the moment, I’m number 1 in the individual ranking: I’m happy, it’s a great week. We didn’t think we arrived in great shape to this tournament, we fought and won very hard matches. Now we are here to raise this trophy and thanks to everyone who supports me, my family, my friends and Agustin. We are an incredible team!“. Tapia is also the picture of happiness. “It’s unbelievable,” the Argentine‘s first words, “My only purpose of the week was to help Arturo, get to the final and win the tournament: my partner had problems with his arm and neck, no one knew, and he is a tireless worker. Thanks to our families who support us and give us inexplicable strength day after day. We are really happy!”
