As many as 13 players among the top 100 of the FIP ranking are at the start of the FIP STAR in Gran Canaria, Spain. The tournament is being played at the La Calzada club in Las Palmas and includes 32 pairs in the men’s draw, four of them from the qualifiers, and the same number in the women’s. Among the men, the top seeds are Spain’s Pablo Lijo (number 38) and Mario Del Castillo (number 41), followed on the entry list by compatriots Raul Marcos (number 39) and Javier Garcia (51).

Diego Gil and Nachi Sager, number 3 on the draw, are at the top, while at the bottom it will be Javier Martinez and Jairo Bautista who will try to trouble the favourites. Spaniards also top the seeding among the women, with Sofia Saiz and Marina Lobo seeded number one, followed by Beatriz Caldera Sanchez and Portugal’s Ana Caterina Nogueira.
