Ruiz and Bergamini, the Milan finalists to the conquest of the Foro Italico: good debut

After Milan, Victor Ruiz and Lucas Bergamini also want to conquer Rome. A good debut at the BNL Italy Major Premier Padel for the Spaniard and the Brazilian, seeded number 11 on the draw and finalists at the P1 Premier played last December at the Allianz Cloud. It wasn’t a soft start for Victor and Lucas who, on one of the two courts set up inside the Nicola Pietrangeli stadium, defeated 7-6 6-4 the Spaniards Ignacio Vilariño Gestoso and Salva Oria. After dropping a set point in the first set and closing 12-10 in the tiebreak, Ruiz and Bergamini broke their opponents in the seventh game of the second set.

“This is a beautiful tournament, one of the best in history – said Bergamini -. Playing at the Pietrangeli, one of the most beautiful courts in the world, is a dream come true: today was a very difficult match but we did the job to go into the second round“. The Brazilian, in Rome, has already played with the jersey of the Circolo Canottieri Aniene, a club just a few hundred metres from the Foro Italico: “Italy is my third home because I am Brazilian, I live in Spain but I am often playing in Italy. That is why being here is special, dreaming of repeating the week in Milan, which was unforgettable”.
