From Rome to Madrid, Premier Padel show goes to Spain

One day after the end of the wonderful week in Rome, Premier Padel moves to Spain for the P1 in Madrid. After the victories of Stupaczuk and Di Nenno in Doha, that of Coello and Tapia in the men’s and the historic one of Triay and Ortega in the women’s at the Foro Italico, the third stage of the most important and prestigious circuit in the world is being played.

The big names seen in Rome are all there: in the men’s draw of 48 pairs, the 16 seeded players will enter from the second round. Leading the men’s entry list are the number ones and defending champions Juan Lebron and Alejandro Galan, who want their revenge after being defeated in the quarters in Rome: in the same quarter of the draw, the potential clash is still with Fernando Belasteguin and Mike Yanguas, while in the round of 16 on the road for Lebron and Galan could be Maxi Sanchez and Luciano Capra.

Tapia and Coello are in the same half as Lebron and Galan (possible quarter-final against Ruiz and Tello); in the bottom half, however, Franco Stupaczuk and Martin Di Nenno (2) could cross paths with Momo Gonzalez and Sanyo Gutierrez (7) in the quarters, with Federico Chingotto and Paquito Navarro (3) facing Agustin Silingo and Pablo Lima (8) on Friday. There are 32 pairs starting in the women’s draw, with the two Rome finalists leading the list of seeded players. Number 1 Ari Sanchez and Paula Josemaria, number 2 Gemma Triay and Marta Ortega, with Delfina Brea/Bea Gonzalez and the Sanchez Alayeto twins completing the quartet of possible semi-finalists. But, as always, watch out for surprises.
