Frihamnen, Insa, writer-player and winner with other Spaniard Aromi

Spain’s Roger Aromi Siquier and Ferran Insa Sotillo won the title in the FIP RISE in Frihamnen (Sweden). Insa has a special feeling with padel, on and off the court: in addition to winning games, he was also the author of a book (‘Los secretos del padel’) in which he explains from his point of view the peculiarities of this discipline and – words from his Instagram profile bio – “the tactics that will raise your level”.

In the final, Aromi and Insa – the sixth seed in the draw – defeated Britain’s Christian Medina Murphy and Spain’s Belar Vera Lopez with a score of 7-5 6-4. In the semifinals, however, the two winners got the better of the number 2 seeded Cayetano Rocafort Lores and Simon Vasquez (6-3 6-4). The seeded leaders, France’s Thomas Leygue and Jeremy Scatena, had lost in the round of 16 to Sweden’s Daniel Appelgren and Linus Frost.
