Day 4, Thursday at Foro Italico big names back on court for Round of 16
July 13, 2023We enter the climax, playing to book a place in the quarterfinals. At the BNL Italy Major Premier Padel, in the charming scenario of Foro Italico, the fourth day of the Roman Major is staged and on Thursday all the big names will be back on the court.
Sixteen Round of 16 matches are scheduled, four in the morning session starting at 9 a.m. and the remaining twelve starting at 5 p.m. Opening the day, on the Centre Court, will be the Melendez brothers, opposed to the Argentines Sanchez and Capra, while – on Court 7 – the only Italian player still in the competition, Denis Perino, will take the field: paired with veteran Miguel Lamperti, they will try again to overturn the odds against Bergamini and Ruiz, finalists at the PP1 in Milan.
The afternoon on the Pietrangeli begins with fireworks: first the No. 1 seeded players in the men’s draw, Lebron and Galan, against Rico and Gutierrez, then those in the women’s – Sanchez and Josemaria – who will face Martinez and Goenaga. Also on the Pietrangeli, following this match, it will be the turn of Stupaczuk and Di Nenno. On the Centre Court, after the women’s draw match which involves Triay and Ortega, here are Chingotto and Paquito Navarro against Munoz and Ramirez del Campo and, finally, Mike Yanguas and the legendary Belasteguin against Arroyo and Rubio. Carolina Orsi from Italy, with Spain‘s Llaguno, will open the afternoon schedule on Court 8 against twins Maria Jose and Maria Pilar Sanchez Alayeto. Finally, on Court 7, first Ruiz and Tello, then Coello and Tapia. The show is assured.
