Day 4: Bergamini-Ruiz, marathon is worth a spot in quarter finals

No surprises and predictions fulfilled in the four morning matches of the BNL Italy Major Premier Padel scheduled on this Day 4, which sends the Round of 16 to the stage.

In the men’s draw, the adventure of the Italian-Argentinian pair composed by Perino and the veteran Lamperti ends in front of Bergamini and Ruiz: the number 11 seed, PP1 finalists in Milan, endure and win at end 4-6, 6-4, 6-4 in 2 hours and 26 minutes after three tight sets. Definitely the most exciting match of the morning. The Argentine Sanchez and Capra took less than an hour (58 minutes) to beat 6-2, 6-1 the Spanish brothers Melendez and book their place in the quarter finals.

In the women’s draw, Osorio-Sainz, number 3 seeded players, go through: Lobo and Rufo Ortiz bowed 6-3, 6-1 to their opponents. It was another convincing performance, especially in the first set, for Delfi Brea and Bea Gonzalez, who passed to the next round beating 6-2, 7-6 (7-5) the Navarro-Guinart duo. The two winning pairs will compete on Friday in the quarter finals.
