Spyros Capralos (EOC) “Padel is growing in Europe, in Krakow a big show”

Spyros Capralos, president of the European Olympic Committees (EOC) and former waterpolo player for the Greek national team with two Olympics behind him, even when wearing a suit and tie never stops being an athlete. And as such he “feels” when things are changing even at a very early stage, both in a competition and in the architecture of world sport.

And on padel, he gets straight to the point: “We are seeing the growth of padel all over Europe, it is improving in so many way – says Capralos, who explains the basis from which the ‘short racket’ was considered for the European Games in Krakow -. We thought that bringing padel here was a great opportunity for those who love the sport and are enjoying this beautiful discipline live. I am thinking for example of the tournament finals that will take place in the beautiful main square in Krakow, the highlight of a beautiful event with which padel will show how exciting and appealing it is“.

The number one of the Continental Olympic Committee looks at the European chessboard and the many signs of growth of padel: “I know that in Southern Europe, in my country but also in countries far away from our continent, this sport is continuing to grow very fast. Padel has a bright future and we have given it the opportunity at the European Games to showcase itself”’.
