Padel on the greatest stage

Padel on the greatest stage. The first time in five circles is unforgettable. Padel is making its debut at the European Games in Krakow, and for the FIP – which has been working in this direction in last years – it will be a historic event. On court will be 80 pairs from 23 nations, who will compete in three draws: men’s, women’s and mixed.

What is scheduled from 21 to 25 June in Poland will be a great week, with the centre court set up in Krakow Main Square hosting all the strongest players from the “old continent”. The men’s and women’s draw will consist of 32 pairs; the mixed draw, on the other hand, of 16. All matches will be played in best of three sets, with tiebreak.

At the top of the seeding is Spain, which is the favourite for the gold medal: in the men’s, the other top seeds are France, Portugal and Belgium. In the women’s, however, right behind Spain are Italy and again Belgium and Portugal. In the mixed, finally, Spain and Portugal lead.

The tournament, which will be played from Wednesday 21 and will see the finals for bronze and those for gold on Sunday 25 (starting in the morning with those for third place) will be preceded in the evening of Tuesday 20 by the opening ceremony.  Because the dream of seeing padel at the European Games is a reality, and it is good and right for everyone to live it to the full.
