A SPANISH AND A GERMAN TRIUMPH

Two trophies in one month, with two different partners. After Bordeaux, Fran Ramirez Navas also won the FIP STAR in Il Bosco, Egypt. If in France, Ramirez Navas won the title with another Spaniard, Mario Huete Hernandez, this time he shared the half court with Inigo Jofre. Number five seed on the draw, they defeated José Carlos Gaspar and Miguel Gonzalez in three sets in the final. After losing the first set on a tiebreak, they then gave up only four games (6-1 6-3) in the next two to their opponents, the number 6 seed.
In the women’s final, Germany’s Victoria Kurz and Denise Hoefer clearly won the FIP RISE final, defeating 6-2 6-0 the tournament’s big surprise, the Egyptian pair of Laila El Nimr and Yasmeen Ebada, who had beaten in the semifinal the other Egyptian Iman Metwally and Spain’s Sara Ruiz Soto, big favourites before the start of the tournament.
