FIP RISE, Spanish triumphs in Bordeaux and Gävle. Young Argentinians win in Santiago
April 24, 2023Two Spanish victories and one Argentinian. It was a great weekend that ended with the finals of the FIP RISE tournaments in Bordeaux (France), Gävle (Sweden) and Santiago (Chile). In Bordeaux, the title went to Fran Ramirez Navas and Mario Huete Hernandez who beat, in the all-Spanish final, the third seed on the draw – Luis Hernandez Quesada and Miguel Angel Solbes – with a score of 6-3 3-6 6-3.
And two Spaniards also won the tournament in Gävle: in this case, José Carlos Gaspar (who currently lives in Switzerland) and Victor Mena confirmed the expectations by winning the title as first seed, in the final against Pedro Vera and Ignacio Piotto Albornoz, with a comeback (2-6 6-4 6-4) after going down by a set.
Finally, in Santiago, there was an ‘Albiceleste’ party, with youngsters Facundo Rodrigo Luis Lopez (born in 2004) and Santiago Rolla (2001) winning 7-6 7-5 over hosts Cristobal Molina and Cristobal Martinez. Padel is discovering two new stars?
