Gaspar wants revenge after Gothenburg defeat

After the success in Gothenburg, Sweden returns to host another FIP RISE tournament. This week the CUPRA FIP TOUR makes a stop at the Center Court PRO Padel One in Gävle, for a men’s draw which includes 32 pairs, of which 26 are ranked, four qualified and two wild cards.
After losing in the final in Gothenburg against Rocafort and Vasquez, Spaniard José Carlos Gaspar (number 86 ranked) will try again, this time paired with Victor Manuel Mena, the highest ranked player in the field (number 69). Number 2 seed, the Spaniard Pedro Vera and the talented Argentinean (born in 2002) Ignacio Piotto Albornoz.
Swedish padel, as in the rest of Europe and the world, is a movement that is growing over the years. Last year, there were 106 member associations of the Swedish federation; after the first three monts of 2023, there are 220, with a total of around 50,000 practitioners. And also this year, the calendar of FIP tournaments in Sweden could be enriched with more events.
