Tison and Maigret against Spanish super pairs

The Big Padel in Bordeaux hosts one of the three FIP RISE tournaments scheduled for this week. In France, after the 32-pair qualifying draw, the main draw will be played between Friday and Sunday.

The main draw will also consist of 32 pairs, of which 26 will be admitted by ranking, four qualified and two wild cards. Among the most awaited players is home idol Benjamin Tison: the Frenchman, world number 60, has the highest ranking among the players at the start, but together with compatriot Adrien Maigret (number 177) will be the fourth seed in the main draw.

Leading the seeding are Spaniards Mario Ortega and Carlos Marti, the only pair composed by both top 100 players; next up are Fran Ramirez Navas and Mario Huete Hernandez, who talks about his passion for padel on his official website.

Father of two children, Mario divided his time until recently between playing and teaching padel: as an instructor, however, he decided to make a choice. “In 2022, I left my job to fight for this dream, to be in the top 100 players in the world”. He finished last year at number 76, now he is number 107, but in Bordeaux here is his chance to earn points and return to the top 100.
